The Power of a Renewed Mind

Hello all!

I attended a team building meeting several years ago and they gave us a small, black stone to remind us to think positively and stay on what they called the “energy bus”.

I will agree there is merit to positive thinking but there is even better merit in renewing our minds daily with the Word of God – in fact a renewed mind is a powerful mind. A renewed mind lasts a lot longer than any positive thought and it can give you a lot of energy. I decided to let my little black stone remind me to renew my mind daily in the Word.

Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

In other words this is a daily process, an intentional process. When we renew our minds we also get to do the Will of God, of our own free will. A renewed mind is a focused mind, a renewed mind can not be swayed by circumstances or feelings. Did you know positive thinking actually comes from a renewed mind? You can’t think positively without renewing your mind with the Word. You can’t pull positive thoughts out of thin air. A renewed mind gives us the emotional and intellectual energy we need to face each day with confidence that God is with us – that’s better than any positive thought as far I am concerned.

I encourage you today to renew your mind daily with God’s Word. With a renewed mind, you will think positively and you will stay focused and accomplish all God has for you!

Until next time,

Beth
