When You Have Done Everything, Stand

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I saw the new movie Hacksaw Ridge (a must see). Without giving the movie away, it is a story about a man who stood by what he believed. When he had done everything they told him, he stood on his principles regardless of what anyone thought of him or did to him.

Is this always easy? No. Will is hurt? Yes, sometimes it does. Will you and others benefit from it in the end? Yes! Would you like to know why?

When you stand for what you believe in and you don't waiver on your principles, people will not only know what to expect from you, they can actually trust you. They know you won't blow like a reed in the wind every time the "wind" changes or a new "group thought" comes along. They will know you actually stand for something, actually believe it and you mean what you say when you say it. They will know you are a person of your word - someone they can count on. For your part, you will be able to live with yourself and your decisions, regardless of the situation.

Don't you want to be that kind of person? I do! I decided a long time ago to stand on what I believe whether the crowd went with me or not. I want to be a person others can count on and someone they can trust. I don't care what others think of me - I was not put on this earth to please people and no one else is responsible for my life, my beliefs and convictions or decisions.

I would encourage everyone to see Hacksaw Ridge. Many of the themes ring true in today's world, not just the one I am blogging about today.

We all must stand for something or we will fall for anything!

Standing for something,

Elizabeth
