Hello everyone!
Today, I want to take the time to thank our veterans. My dad was in the Army back in his early years - during the Cold War of the early 1970s guarding nuclear arms depos, never knowing when we and the Soviets might go to nuclear war. I have uncles on my dad's side who have served both in the Navy (destroyer duty) and the Army (tank battlion, Desert Storm). I have a late great uncle on my mother's side who was in the Marines in WW2, he was killed at Pearl Harbor. My late grandfather on my mother's side was in the army during WW2 and fought in Italy, Anzio Beach to be exact. He was their radio guy. He was getting ready to be shipped to the Pacific when we dropped the atom bombs in Japan. We also had several mercenaries in our family background who fought for this country (and unfortunately against it) in the time of the Revolutionary War.
I have several friends who are either active members of our military or former members of our military. All of them, friends and family alike, worked hard or are working hard to do what God called you to do. Some of you did not get a choice, you just had to go. I know it is not and was not always easy nor do you always feel appreciated now or even then.
I want to say a big THANK YOU!! Without your sacrifices, many things would be different today and the world would be a dark place.
I love and appreciate all of you!! I continue to pray for you and for your families.
With much gratitude,
Elizabeth
