Hello everyone!
The good and bad of life shape us into who we are. With that said, I am thankful for the good and bad in life. Why you may ask?
Why should I be thankful for the bad things that happen to me?
Let me explain where I'm coming from. Every bad thing I have ever experienced as taught me something, either about myself, someone else or life in general. Bad situations are full of lessons. Bad situations can also be blessings in disguise. They may show the true character of someone or reveal a situation or an issue for what it really is, not what it seems to be. Bad situations tend to teach us about our own character. Bad situations can reveal character flaws we may be unaware of or simply didn't want to deal with. Bad situations can show us how far we've gotten away from our goals, plans or beliefs about ourselves.
In contrast, the good of life can help us be thankful and teach us to take nothing for granted. The good of life brings joy, happiness and contentedness as well as connection with the people around us. The good of life also brings love. Love is the most important thing in this world. Without love, there would be no good.
I celebrate the good in life for what it brings me. I celebrate the bad in life (maybe not right at that moment) for what it teaches me. God can use the good and bad of life to teach us new things about ourselves and others. He can also use the good and bad of this life to teach us about Him. He has certainly done this for me the past few years.
I want to encourage all of you to not take the good or bad of life at face value but search for what it is trying to teach you. Ask yourself these questions: What am I missing? What do I need to work on? What do I need to give to God? What is God teaching me about Himself? What is God teaching me about me? What is God teaching me about so and so? Don't just ask these questions, learn from your answers. Learn from your answers and then apply them. Apply your answers and watch your life blossom.
I want to leave you with some final thoughts.
Always be thankful for the good and bad in life. Be thankful for another day of life to learn. Be thankful for life's lessons. Be thankful God loves you enough to teach you.
Thankful and always learning,
Elizabeth
