Hello Readers!
Have you ever wondered what your purpose is for life? Have you ever tried multiple occupations and hobbies trying to figure that out?
Have you made bad decisions trying to figure out your purpose or thinking you were doing what you were meant to do?
Have experiences changed or shaped your purpose?
I can answer yes to all of these questions. I can tell you what would have been simpler at the time would have been to look at what I was really passionate about and go from there. I also many times did not ask God. Why ask God you say? He knows me better than anyone. He knows you better than anyone. He made us. How can the one Who made you not know you?
Regarding my last question, I can say my recent experiences (last 5 years) have shown me alot about my purpose and that my purpose may not have been what I thought it would be at this point in my life. I'm okay with that. Writing my book, The Road Less Traveled: A Story of Love, Hope, Pain and Everything in Between, opened up a whole new world of writing for me. Blogging again and helping others has changed my focus and helped me see a newness in my purpose.
Are you looking for newness of purpose? Are you simply just looking for why you are on this planet? If you answered yes to both of those questions, do three things for yourself: 1) Ask God, He knows you, loves you and wants only the best for you; 2) Look at your passions, what makes you excited; and 3) Look at your experiences, what can you do to help others.
I can tell you from experience these three things (soul searching if you will) have helped me not only navigate the last few years but they have given me a new drive and a new sense of adventure. We all have a purpose. We are all on this planet for a reason. No one is a "nothing person" and don't believe anyone who calls you that.
I will leave you with two verses from the Bible to think about and as always look up any Bible verses for yourself that you see in my blogs. I want people to make up their own minds.
Proverbs 16:9; "A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], but the Lord directs his steps and establishes them."
Jeremiah 1: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]...
Until next time,
Elizabeth
