Thankful for Jesus

Hello everyone. I wanted to end the Thanksgiving weekend with a blog about the greatest man who ever lived, died and now lives - Jesus Christ.

Jesus was and is the perfect example of love, mercy, justice and compassion and most of all selflessness. He was and is the world's greatest role model. He loved all, served all and died for all. Without His sacrifice, where would we be?

John 3:16-17 says; For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, to save the world! His death and resurrection accomplished this very thing!

2 Peter 3:9 says; The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

If God did not want relationship with mankind and all to come to Him, why send Jesus? If God would rather punish all of us, why send Jesus? It wouldn't make any sense would it?

I am thankful for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I am thankful because without his death and resurrection my late husband, Jeff, would have no hope. A world without hope and death without hope is very horrible place to be. We all have hope in Jesus Christ, no matter what we have done or not done - no matter what has been done to us. His love for this world has already won! His love for the world has already conquered a hopeless death!

If you do not know Him today, call out to him. He is closer than you think and He will hear you. You can talk to Him like you talk to your friends - even though you can't see Him.

John 8:12 says; When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

He is the Light and He wants to be your friend and Light, just as He is mine. Call to Him and He will answer you.

Thankful always for the Light of the World,

Elizabeth
