Hello everyone! I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you some of my thoughts on Hurricane Harvey and the effect it has had on the heart of our nation.
I have been unable to write as much as I would like to this week. It has been a busy week with my move coming up and responding in my everyday job to Hurricane Harvey. Of course, this isn't over yet. Oklahoma is very much at the forefront of this response and will continue to be!
I have trully seen the real heart of America this week both in Texas and Lousiana, in neighboring states and across the country. The everyday response to Hurricane Harvey we have seen this past weekend and week is the true heart of America! Neighbors, friends and strangers of every color, creed and walk of life helping each other! What bothers me is it took a tragedy to expose the false heart of America for what it is. However, evil has a way of always exposing itself for what it trully is. Evil can never hide from the light of truth.
This hurricane, although a tragedy, has brought us once again together. What was designed to divide us, has in fact united us. Other things that were designed to divide us, have been pushed into the background and forgotten. People who have sought to divide us are now being rebuked and ignored. The tide is turning! Even our politicians have stepped away from their vices to do what is right!
My heart and prayers continue to be with the people of Texas and Louisiana. I salute you for you response to this tragedy as I salute the people of Oklahoma, the surrounding states and the people of this nation. I salute the countless organizations, profit, non-profit, faith-based, state, local and federal who have put themselves on the line to help people! We will not let negativity or evil win, in any form! I even salute the media, you have laid down your hatches long enough to help fellow Americans.
Thank you America for letting right win! Love has won once again and saved the day!
Isaiah 43:2 NIV; "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you."
We are indeed passing through and only what is good awaits us on the other side!
Until next time,
Elizabeth
