I got a fortune cookie today that said, "A challenge will come your way that will bring out your best abilities." Although I don't put to much stock in fortune cookies, I got to thinking about this. I have challenged myself a lot in the past few years, sometimes because I've had to, other times because I wanted to. I can say it has brought out the best in me and to me. My book is a great example of a past challenge that has not only brought out the best in me but also helped and challenged others.
My biggest challenges now are training for two marathons, shopping for a home and my weight loss. The last little bit of weight loss is always the hardest. Shopping for a home can be down right frustrating. Training for a marathon takes commitment and hard work, even when you don't feel like it. However, these challenges keep me determined to see them through to their end, again bringing out the best in me as well as to me. I say let the challenges come so my best abilities can shine, whether it be in work, home, relationships, etc.
I want to encourage you to challenge yourself. Get out of your comfort zones. Let God challenge you. Go do that thing you've always wanted to do. Get that job. Run that race. Find that house.
There is nothing I can't do in Christ so bring it on!! There is nothing you can't do in Christ so bring it on!! Anticipate His best always and be patient with the process (the hardest part) and you can't go wrong.
As T.D. Jakes says, "Get ready, get ready, get ready!!"
