The Power of Choice

Hello everyone! This is my last blog until May 22nd so I wanted to leave you with something to chew on so to speak.

We all make choices everyday. Many times we go into automode in our minds and hearts with these choices. The truth is every choice we make has power. Every choice matters, from what we eat to who we marry. What we choose to eat determines how healthy or unhealthy we are. Who we choose to marry determines how healthy or unhealthy that relationship will be. Everyday we have the choices of life and death in our lives. I will say it again every choice we make is powerful.

Choices have a way of snowballing too. We make the choice to marry a person we know we should not marry. The next choice we make is to make excuses for them. The next choice we make is to outright lie for them. The next choice we make hurts someone or us and the snowballing continues. Every one of these choices is powerful both in the making and the consequence. In the example I just gave, the consequences will be a broken heart, a broken life and other broken relationships.

God gave us the power of choice because He loves all of us. He gave us the powerful choice to do good or evil. He gave us the choice to seek life or death. He loves us regardless of our choices, even if they push us far from Him. He is not responsible for our consequences, we are.  He gave us powerful choices and with this comes powerful consequences. What is so good about God is we can go 20 years making bad choices then choose to repent and make good choices for the rest of our lives! We get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc chance! He does not hold our past against us! This is His powerful choice to love us and reconcile us through Jesus! That is powerfullly good news!!

As you ponder this over the next several weeks, look closely at your own choices. I have been doing this for quite some time myself. What needs to change?  What powerful choices can you make to correct your course? What powerful choices can you make to move forward? What powerful choices about your relationships do you need to make? I have made some powerful choices lately and I can't even begin to tell you how much of a blessing that has been to me! Life changing and eye opening!

Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT; Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life....

Every choice is powerful. Every choice matters. Every choice presents us with life and death.

Choose wisely!!

Until next time,

Elizabeth
