Be a Blessing!

Hello everyone!

Over the last several weeks I’ve had the opportunity to not only start into new avenues of outreach but to see my book make a real difference in people’s lives! God has opened doors for me to be a blessing in many ways and I am so thankful!

Why is being a blessing to others so important? The answer is simple: you may be the only extension of a loving God that person ever sees. Why would you withhold that from people? Why would you withhold the blessing of your time, money and influence when that may be exactly what that person needs? Why would you withhold Jesus from them when He is the answer of all answers? What are you missing by not being a blessing to others? I can tell you for a fact you are missing out on many things! You are missing out on the hope they see in you. You are missing the smile on their face. You are missing them tell you that the love you showed them helped them go on when they did not want to go on. You are missing the look on their face when they realize someone believes in them despite their mistakes or failures. You are missing the sound in their voice when they realize you value them as a person and not because of what they have done or what can offer you. To put it simply: you are missing out on loving others! You are missing out on being loved by others and seeing how God sees them!

I have been so blessed to see faces light up, voices lift in excitement and hearts be opened to the gospel these last several weeks! I am so thankful and so excited that I chose to be a part of that. I will not stop choosing to be a part of it! I will not stop shining light into dark places, for many do not know they can come out into the light. I will not stop being the hands and feet of Jesus. I will not stop going to those that won’t come to our churches. I will be a blessing when it is convenient, and I will be a blessing when it is not convenient. I will love those the world perceives as unlovable. I will love those the world views as less valuable. I will love those who can’t do anything for me. How can I not to that? How can we not do that church? Is that not what Jesus did? Is it really about the biggest church building or the most popular “celebrity pastor”? What are we looking for church? Fame, riches, prestige? I will expound on this more in tomorrow’s blog but last I checked the Kingdom of God was not about riches and fame. If those things come to you, why not use them to be a blessing instead of use them to advance an agenda or your own self-worth? If you are blessed, you are blessed to be a blessing!

I will say it again, I will never stop being a blessing, whether in writing, giving or my time! I will do it with little or with much! I will not pursue fame, riches or prestige – those do not save human souls. If God chooses to bless me with any of those things, I will turn it back to His Kingdom so that many more will be saved! We can’t take our money or possessions with us – they pass away like chaff in the wind. They do not save our souls nor the souls of humanity. We were never meant to keep blessings to ourselves. We were meant to share blessings so that many will know the heart of God and come to Jesus. Will you not choose to be a blessing? I can promise you if you do, you will never be the same!

Proverbs 11:25, 28 MSG; The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump; a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree.  Blessed to be a blessing, Elizabeth
