Hello all! I sent the letter below to my OK House and and Senate Representatives in the US House and Senate as it relates to immigration policy. I kept it short and to the point. We must call our leaders to righteousness! They must hear our unified voice on this matter! Feel free to borrow for your letters and phone calls!

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Baldwin, one of your many constituents. I am a nurse, a writer, a woman of faith, and I call Oklahoma home as you do. Many of the recent events with ICE and Ms. Noem have greatly disturbed and saddened me. I waited for a time to write because I wanted to be in the right mindset to articulate my thoughts on this subject clearly. I would ask you today to humbly and intentionally allow the Word of God to direct your immigration policy, not a party or a president. This will take great courage, and I believe you have that courage. Do what is right, not expedient. Do what is right, not popular. Call our president, his cabinet leaders, and your colleagues to a renewed sense of righteousness. I call you to a renewed sense of righteousness. I wanted to include some Bible verses for you to meditate on as you make decisions for our nation and represent our great state. I will pray you make the right decisions for the immigrant and the vulnerable both in Oklahoma and around the nation.
Leviticus 19:33 and 34a NIV "When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself..."
Numbers 15:15-16 NIV; "The community is to have the same rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the foreigner shall be the same before the Lord."
Zechariah 7:10 NIV; "Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor."
Matthew 25:35 (NIV) (the words of Jesus): "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."May the Word be wisdom and Light to you.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
