The Human Cost of Human Trafficking

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about an uncomfortable subject once again. I'm going to talk about it because we need to keep talking about it and doing something about it. We need to stop pretending that it doesn't happen in our communities and that the people it affects signed up for this or want to do it. In fact, the next person who tells me that a women or girl wants to do this sort of thing may end up slapped - I'm not kidding.

What is the real human cost of human trafficking? I'm not talking about money. I'm talking what it does to the women and children who are typically targeted. What is the cost to these human beings?

The cost comes not in money but in emotional, physical and soul damage to these precious women and children. Human trafficking is nothing but predatory behavior at its basest form. Its victims have their identity stolen and their lives stolen. They are abused in multiple ways, exposed to diseases of all kinds and many times are killed if they are no longer "useful." If you have not read the article about the trafficker who killed thousands of his victims simply because they were no longer useful to him, I would recommend it. The article will give you a glimpse into a trafficker's mind and their complete lack of any conscious what so ever. I can only imagine what his victims endured. I can only imagine what he endured to get to where he would do such things ot other people.....

But God....

How does God come into this you might ask? God sees it all. He sees the traffickers and he sees the victims. And He can make a way out! He can even make a way out for a trafficker (yes I went there). If any of you traffickers are reading this, you can change. You can set your slaves free! You are still alive and you have a choice! God still loves you (yes I know that might sound strange). He sees you and He can and will forgive you! He also sees why you do these things! Call out to Him and live! Yes there will be consequences for you but you still have time to repent. I do not fear you. It is because of fear you do what you do.

If you are a victim reading this, God can make a way out for you! He sees you! There is no darkness He can not see into, and no darkness He can not go into. He can make a way where there seems to be no way! Call out to Him!

To my regular readers, I want to encourage you to pray and get involved in the fight to stop this. Traffickers and victims alike need the love and grace of God - for the traffickers to change and the victims to heal and be restored.

John 1:5; The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]. (AMP Bible)

Fighting the good fight,

Elizabeth
