Hello everyone! I don't know where your level of excitement is right now but I am excited to
share this blog with you this week! I am going to pause my Changing the Church's Narrative series and pick that back up again next week. Today, I want to tell you that your season of freedom from evil is here – whether you profess Christ or not! The Church's season of freedom from evil within its body has come! This will be a long-lasting season. This is a season for men, women, boys, girls, church bodies and the others outside of Christianity. The King is on the move in our suburbs, homes, cities, towns, states, nation, and the world! His purposes will not be stopped! The gates of Hell will not prevail against the Kingdom of Light!
What will this freedom look like? I'm glad you asked! Isaiah 61:1-4 is the scripture for this
season. I encourage everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike, to look it up for themselves in this time. You will see this come to pass with your own eyes and in your own families. I will
share it for your reference at the end of this writing. Once again, you will either love or hate me after this blog today. That's okay. I rejoice anyway!
Freedom is coming for his Church and individuals both inside and outside the church in:
1) Relationships
2) Identity
3) Leadership
4) Purpose
5) And specifically, freedom from the traditions of men, religious law, and all political culture and entanglements.
Relationships
Christians and non-Christians alike will experience accelerated freedom from abuse,
manipulation, and control in their relationships in this season. Scriptural twisting and
misunderstanding will be reversed and revealed in this season. God is calling his sons and
daughters to freedom from this oppression and evil, and free they will be! Those who enable and
perpetuate evil against others will be be revealed and the principle of sowing and reaping will be in place. There will be no where for abusers and perpetuaters (Wolves and foxes) to hide from the Light. If you are the abuser or perpetuater, repent and get the help you need so that you may be free of your pain and misery that you use against others! If you are the one being abused, your freedom is coming quickly. Look for it and move when the door opens to do so! Do not hesitate!
Identity
Jesus will reveal the true identity of his Church. He will break off all other identities tied to
anything else but Him (e.g. cultural, traditional, political, and personal). In so doing, he will
reveal the wolves who have come among the sheep. He will deal with said wolves according to their hearts. His Church will not be a den of wolves nor foxes! Individually, Jesus will break off old identities that many Christians have been carrying around for far too long! He will set believers free from people-pleasing and from the need to be affirmed by everyone. For those of you reading this who aren't Christians, a freed Church will be a welcoming place whose only purpose is to be grace and love to a hurting world. It is in this place that you will find the King and the answer to all your identity questions. This will be a place where you will be affirmed as an image bearer of the One True King and valued more than you could ever imagine. I am very excited to meet many of you in the coming days!
Leadership
I will to touch on this again in my Changing the Church's Narrative blog series but here I will give you a synopsis of what this will look like moving forward. Leadership in the Church and home are changing. They will be lining up with what Jesus actually intended in the New Covenant when He inspired Paul to write his words in Ephesians and other areas of the New Testament. Women will be brought into the leadership positions in the Church God designed for them to have all along and I'm not talking about Family or Children's pastors either. The role of women in Church leadership is expanding and will continue to expand into the pulpit and deacon-ship areas. Many churches are already seeing the value in this that Paul recognized in the early Church. The traditions of men and culture are already being revealed to be the lies that they are – the twisting of scripture to suit power-hungry leaders.
You will also see the roles of men and women change in their homes. Jesus is setting the family free from gender roles, political culture, and the religious law that goes with them. He will reveal to individual families the value that both men and women bring to the table in the relationship, and that He made them with the purposes and passions they have for a reason. Families will come under His headship, not a man's. He will show himself to be the cornerstone uniting two people into one (look up Kephale in the Greek in Bible Hub). Respect, mutuality, and partnership will become the cornerstones of marriage (and a light to others)– not the gender roles, political culture, and the traditions of men. The King will pull every root of these lies and throw them in the fire!
Purpose
For those set free from abuse, the law, the traditions of men, and culture; the King will give you a renewed sense of purpose! He will show you who you truly are and what He always made you to be. No more doing what others think you “should do.” No more fear. No more dealing with the control or manipulation of others. You will truly be free! Free to walk in the purpose He created you for and with the talents and gifts He has given you!
The Church will also have renewed purpose. Free from the traditions of men, the law, culture, and political entanglements; the Church will finally be free to be the Church as I described
before - a welcoming place whose only purpose is to be grace and love to a hurting world. A
place totally transformed by the love of King Jesus. A place of freedom!
Traditions of Men, Political Culture with Entanglements, and Religious Law
I know I have already touched on a lot of these topics in the other 4 sections of this blog and
how they relate to relationships, identity, purpose, and leadership. These issues get their own section because they are the root of all the evil you see in the Church today. The are in fact
wolves in their own right. Each of these three topics - Traditions of Men, Political Culture and
Entanglement, and Religious Law, represent three little gods King Jesus will uproot and throw in the fire. For His Church will be radiant, without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:27). These little gods have been far too comfortable for far too long. They are about to get really uncomfortable. In facr so uncomfortable, they will beg to leave. And leave they will! They will take all of their yuck, confusion, and witchcraft with them too. And sadly, they may take some people as well – those who wish to worship them more than King Jesus. The time of the little gods grows very short indeed! Let His Church be rid of them! Let the Church be free!
I will leave you with Isaiah 61:1-4 NIV, the foundation of the freedom (and renewal) that is
coming:
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
